Spring2Action is HERE! Help Us Reach Our $10K Goal!
Exciting news! TOMORROW, 4/24 marks Alexandria’s Day of Giving, Spring2Action, and the PTA is thrilled to unveil this year's plans.
Our Spring2ACTion goal is set at $10,000. To reach our goal the JH PTA has a double dose of dining options on 4/24 to help us FUNdraise!
First, a HUGE thank you to Matt & Tony’s and Visit Del Ray for being our sponsor again this year! 20% of all sales at Matt & Tony’s from 4-8 PM on 4/24 will benefit the JH PTA. So stop by Matt & Tony’s for a drink or dinner! If you’d like to do a sit down dinner, don’t forget to make a reservation on OpenTable.
And new to the JH school zone is Benny’s Pizza! Welcome to the JH community Benny’s! $1 will be donated for every individual slice purchased from 5-9 PM.

Funds raised from Spring2Action will support initiatives such as:
Orchestra and Band: We're aiming to raise $3,000 (out of a total $8,000) to send our talented musicians to Music in the Parks as the reigning champions.
4th Grade Field Trip: We need $4,000 to send next year’s 4th graders on an unforgettable trip to Jamestown.
Teacher Appreciation: Let’s show our amazing teachers some love. We need to raise $1,000 for the activities we want to host in appreciation of their hard work and dedication.
Grade Level Competition Alert!: To add some fun to our FUNdraising, we’re hosting a friendly grade level competition! Click on your grade’s fundraising link at the bottom of the JH PTA Spring2ACTion main page to donate and help your grade win a pizza party! Share the link with family, friends, and neighbors to boost your grade’s total. Fliers will be going home in backpacks this week with instructions, and a social post will be dropped in the Parents Facebook Group.
Teacher Appreciation Week Support!
May 6-10 is National Teacher Appreciation Week! Each day of that week, the JH PTA will treat our staff to a special event such as sweet treats, classroom supply restock store, a caffeine bar, and much more! To make this week successful, we are asking for help from our generous JH families.
Sign-up to drop off brownies, cookies, and school supplies here! Donations will need to be dropped off NO LATER THAN Sunday, May 5, in the bin on the porch of either: 435 North Fayette St. or 100 E. Luray Ave. Email with any questions to pta.jeffersonhouston@gmail.com.
Also, Save the Date! We will host a Chalk Party on Sunday, May 5 from 4-5 pm near door 1 of the school! Swing by to help decorate the sidewalks outside of school with wonderful art of thanks and positivity to greet the teachers on the first day of Teacher Appreciation Week. Chalk will be provided!
Save the dates! It’s hard to imagine that there are less than 2 months left in the school year! Please save the date for these important end of year ceremonies and our Field Day, presented by the PTA!
